This just makes me smile!

For Valentine's Day, my husband and I went shopping together.  He got a great deal on a new golf club, and then we had a very nice lunch at Biaggi's.  Yum - Italian!
I had Spaghetti al Erbe and spinach salad -- it was so fresh!  He had a sausage panini and lobster chowder.  Then, we went shopping for me.  I took him to a favorite antique store to pick up a picture I saw there a couple of weeks ago and couldn't get out of my head:
Even Dennis loved it!  Now, that's saying something!  (Shown here with Suzanne's lovely paper wreath.)
Here's a close-up of some of the ladies.  The caption says "May Company 1926" -- it was some kind of annual event, I gather.  I need to research it!

My son had to do a double take when he saw it -- he said he at first thought they were "popes"!  I can see that -- the funny hats, the dresses rather like robes.  (But not the boas!)

Oh my goodness...I love this like crazy.  It makes me SO HAPPY!

After that purchase, we went to a French bakery for bread and dessert, and then home.  I cooked my men their favorite lasagna dinner.  It was a lovely day!  I hope yours was, as well.

It's the last day of One World, One Heart!  If you haven't already entered my giveaways, you have until 11:59 PM MT to do so.  Winner announced tomorrow!

I'm so glad you had such a lovely Valentine's day. I just love the picture you found. It would make me smile too! It just seems like women time was so much more prevalent back then. I suppose they had more time than us full time plus workers today. (sigh)

Sounds like a perfect day. Girl, I have to drag my husband out to shop with me and then he's tapping his foot. He will go to my favorite thrift store, though, because they carry cool men's clothes and junk. Great photo of you and your hubby!!! Blessings!

What a lovely day you had! The photo is fabulous! It would be fun to know why they had the decorated hats and boas. I think I would like to go to a party like that!
What outfits! Maybe we should dress like that for our MayDay event! Popes with boas.
