Valentines!

Thank you all for the well-wishes!  My friend brought over a miracle cure for me last night, so I'm finally well!  If you find yourself with a miserable, congested cold with fever, here's the miracle: Throat Coat.  It's the only thing that made me feel better!

At least one of my valentines has been delivered, so I can show you now without spoiling the surprise!
This was the gift I made for Jeanelle for hostessing the Valentine 3 inchey swap; it's a journal with an inchey decoration on the front.
For the cover, I used a vintage book cover for Andersen's Fairy Tales, but I liked the end papers better than the actual grey/pink cover so I used it for the front, and the front for the inside front (if that makes sense!)  I covered the edges with pretty black lace Japanese washi tape.
I used some fun scrap book papers for the pages, and for the back cover...

a vintage paper studio frame, decorated with hearts and flowers!
More to follow -- I think I may start posting a few handmade and antique valentines a day between now and the 14th!

In the meantime, check out this article I wrote for examiner.com to encourage Valentine gifting from the antique shop: 30 Valentine gift ideas -- it's chock full of photos I took one morning at one of my favorite local shops!

Look at that shabby pink high chair!
