September Soiree

When I went to Jeanne Oliver's end of the summer soiree, I wanted to bring her something special to match the theme.
So I went to work in the studio and designed this little "gift cone" using a burlap-like material, old laces and trims, and a piece of a vintage necklace.  I lined the inside of the cone with French primer pages.
I put a few little trinkets in the cone: some Fall themed embellishments, polka dot organdy in fall colors, vintage buttons, and a poem about September taken from a 1930s primer.
I was happy with how it came out!
Little did I know the treat I was in for as Jeanne welcomed me into her home, garden, and circle of amazing friends!
She is a wonderful hostess; every detail was a feast for the eyes...
and the food was amazing!
It was a beautiful, warm September evening...
Jeanne
and the air was full of the sound of laughter...
as old friends reunited, and new friendships blossomed.
new pal Rachel and I
What a wonderful treat to be included in all the fun!
Bonus: at nightfall, we gathered to watch a movie in the open air -- my favorite!
