Vintage gluebook pages

Here are some pages I made for Mary Green's Vintage Gluebook Swap!
They were really the first gluebook pages I have ever done, and I must say I was very challenged by the task.  I used all antique original pieces.
The pages I normally do for my journals and my art typically have much embellishment, like lace, fabric, buttons, and more.
But the gluebook pages get their texture and composition from paper alone.
I found myself often wanting to glue on some lace, but the swap rules said not to!

I hope I did all right with them; I so wanted them to be "good."

All of my swaps are finished now -- whew!  I will be sharing them all with you as soon as I can!

O.k. so I'm niave as to what constitutes it being a "Glue Page"? Just that they are glued on? Guess I need to Google it! They are lovely, and for some reason the Handy Andy makes me laugh, very cool!

Hey, that's really cool! I hadn't heard of a glue book before but that looks like fun, not to mention being able to use some of those neat bits and pieces we all collect! Great project!

Laurie, your pages are awesome. Girlie, there is NO WRONG WAY to do art, thank God!!! LOL! This is one of my favorite mediums (I call it collage or decoupage...but I like that you called it glue pages). Thanks for sharing your creative endeavors. xo

Your pages are gorgeous!
These are just wonderful, Laurie! I know what a challenge a glue book is, when I try to do that style with Mary on craft days, it stumps me. I'm always just dying to add a flower or lace!

I love your pages! I would like to know more about "glue books". I am working on an altered book of favorite quotes but I include anything and everything, sort of a sampler of techniques. What makes a glue book a glue book??

Laurie: I was the luckly receiver of your "beatrice merger" card. It is lovely, especially with the beautiful blue vintage paper. Thanks so much.
