Trying to get back up

Thanks to everyone who had encouraging things to say about yesterday's post.  I seldom talk about that kind of, as someone said, "keeping it real" stuff here, but I was pretty overwhelmed with the gloom.  I'm slowly snapping out of it...

I was able to have some fun this week when I visited a gal who lives nearby and is an Etsian.  Her name is Amy and her shop is called Purrfection Sewing.  She makes the most incredible sweater jackets from thrift shop sweaters!  She was very friendly and fun to interview, plus I got to play with some of her 7 cats while I was at her house.  You can read the article I wrote about her here.  I'm planning to do more of those kinds of articles for examiner.com this year.

I also finished up my Valentine 3 inchey swap squares for the swap, which is due next week.  I'm excited to show you the whole thing soon!  I'm working now on sewing the three incheys I got in my Silver Bella swap onto a sampler.

Here's a pretty little bird tag I whipped up the other day at my all-day crop; the cute bird is a brand new stamp by Close To My Heart.  I used some homemade glimmer mist to color the tag green.  I like how it turned out -- simple and rich, I think.

Before I forget, the Holocaust calendar is going to Melinda Cornish of Melinda's Fabric Fancies.  Melinda, please email me your address!

Is everyone gearing up for One World, One Heart?  It starts in just 9 days, woo hoo!

I read your review of this artist's work- AWESOME! So is your journalistic writing, my DEAR! You are just so, so, so, SWELL! I understand being in the dumps- I am there! Right with you, sistah! But walking the dog seems to be a pretty good remedy for me. Winter blues and boo-hoos. Just hang in there!

So glad you are feeling a little better. I love your tag - the little bird and beautiful flower reminds me that Spring is coming.

Finally figured out how to get your articles in the Examiner! Love the sweater jackets. That's the sort of thing my teenage daughter would love. Can't wait to see your 3-inch swap project!
