Snips of a Snippet Roll

Image
I love to create these miniature fabric collages -- snippet rolls!  They look beautiful cascading off from the top of a vase, or can be pinned open to a curtain or swag. My favorite thing is to just roll it open and gaze at all of the details!  I never tire of having something like this in my hands! Now in my Etsy shop here !

Hitting 1000 Sales on Etsy

Image
It took my many years, but I finally reached the milestone of 1,000 sales in my Etsy shop, Indulge Your Shelf .  I've had so much fun with the shop over the years!  In fact, I started this blog specifically as a way to help market the shop!  It felt so good to finally get to 1000! When I first opened the shop, I sold some of my handmade crafts fashioned from antique and vintage materials: pillows, journals, Christmas ornaments, etc. And I've found amazing treasures at thrift shops, garage sales, estate sales, etc. -- and listed them in the shop.  Wonderful things that I didn't need but that I knew someone would love.  And they did!  They went up in my shop and soon they were found by someone who'd been searching for JUST that thing and they would buy it and love it and gush about it!  It makes me so happy! Things that I loved myself but just had no use for -- like the barkcloth fabric draperies above, perfect for a child's room... And sometimes when so...

Two Jobs and Counting

Image
I took on a second part time job at the end of August and, boy, am I ever glad I did!  Unexpectedly, my husband lost his job this week!  That was the bad news; the good news is that I can work both of my jobs from home, and that my main part time job is letting me work many extra hours from now until the end of the year. Also, I have a booth full of Christmas to sell in town at Willowstone Antique Marketplace . Although, sales are slow due to the pandemic and more shut downs from our high Covid-19 numbers. My Etsy and eBay sales have been slow but steady, so I'm satisfied that this holiday season will come out much the same in income as others have -- at least with my vintage sales! I'm hoping to hit 1000 sales in my Etsy shop before the end of the year -- as of today, I have 24 to go to hit the mark! Somehow, the busier I am, the more I seem to be able to get projects done; like organizing all my Christmas ephemera into categories to store in a large container. I'm alway...

Thoughts on a Sizzling Summer Flying By

Image
Like a lot of the country, temperatures in my part of Colorado are soaring!  Is your summer flying by like mine is?  Don't you wish it wouldn't?  Look at this dandelion in my front yard -- those are full-sized daisies next to it!  I guess that gives me a lot of wishes!  I love this photo of Art, asleep on the landing with his paws holding one of the banister rails.  I wish I could sleep like that!  I picked some of our raspberries.  They are tiny but they taste great; I've been putting them in my smoothies.  This may be the only harvest I get from our bushes, as it is the bird party place in the neighborhood! I finally got some geraniums potted on the porch.  I love them so much and they're so easy!  I decided to hold off on "Christmas in July" -- for me, it will be "Christmas in September".  But -- get a load of this vintage, kitschmas creation I bought at an estate sale last week!  It has been SO po...
