Something New's Been Added: Facebook Connect on Etsy!

Interestingly, I heard this via the free, online auction newsletter AuctionBytes (which I highly recommend) before I heard about it on the Etsy site. There's a new, quick way to publish your Etsy activities to your Facebook page, via Facebook Connect. The button now appears at the top of your page when you're logged into Etsy, right next to the Conversations button. Details are on The Storque.

I will definitely be using that feature!

Speaking of Facebook, have I ever mentioned Laurie's Exercise Challenge, my Facebook page for my Facebook friends who, like me, are looking for encouragement and accountability in the quest to exercise five times per week, every week, for at least 30 minutes each time? Joining is by invitation only, so if you're interested please first send me a friend request on Facebook with a comment saying you saw it on my blog and are interested in the Exercise Page!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We all got up at o'dark thirty to do the annual community pancake breakfast (as Scouts and parents) until noonish. I helped set up, and then sold tickets. That's me on the left.

Here are the boys, ready for the crowd to hit a few minutes before 7 a.m.

We served approximately 800, and besides the yummy breakfast there was a DJ, bike decorating and then a bike "parade", a magician, clowns, face painting, firefighters giving truck tours, Scouting demonstrations, and a flag retirement ceremony. It was super fun! It began to rain, with thunder and lightning, just as we were packing up.

Then we came home and I cooked some and napped some. Then we had a houseful for a cook"out", which ended up being "in"! Besides the 4th, we were celebrating the return of our friends' husband/father who is safely home from Iraq as of last week!

The kids made our annual tradition: the flag cake.

Meanwhile, it rained.

And rained.

But it stopped in time for us to put on our own fireworks show in the driveway as soon as it got dark.

We had a blast. Several of them, in fact! I hope your 4th of July was just as safe and happy!
