I've Got the Button

I've been indulging my button love the last couple of days, all over the kitchen table!

I'm going through my vintage and antique buttons that have already been sorted by color and choosing lots and lots to use for my art, and to sell, too!

It sounds tedious, but for me it's like sifting through gems -- very tactile-ly pleasing!

I especially love the black ones!

Even though some of them can be grungy and dirty, it doesn't bother me! (That's true love, right?!)
Here's what I ended up with -- and now I'm just itching to start creating!

We're counting down to the first day of school, and I've been having some intermittent computer woes...both of these things are responsible for my posting less than normal right now! Please be patient and things will get back to normal soon!

I've been 'caught' doing the same thing. But ,now I do try to wash them right away.

I have those little kids' cake pans. My sister and I would bake in them.

Fun, fun, fun:)...and I still have my Grandmother's buttons!

The date for your son's first day of school is insane! No one even has time to take a vacation! I love it being after labor day. They still do that on Long Island where I grew up- not here in Maryland.

But, the date is earlier here as well. I think it is around the 18th or so. They are trying to work towards year round and I do not like it. Let kids be kids, is what I say.

Eeeee! Oh my, bring your buttons to my house and come play! I have tons and we can trade, like kids used to with marbles!!!

And I agree, I love sorting. It's cathartic. I do it with my beads all the time when I can't get it together elsewhere.
