An ephemera journal

I find it so peaceful to sit down at a table with a pile of lovely textures...
and pretty pictures...
and turn them into something new; do you?
I was overdue to make an ephemera journal and so on Monday, I did.
The most fun thing about these journals is that you just never know how they will all come together!
This time, I added some "newer" (mid century) pieces...
and a lot of old scrap.
I love how it came out; it's now in my handmade shop.
(The only other one I have in stock is one I made specifically for a man.)
I'm happy to say I've added a few more ephemera packs to the shop, too!
And I still can't get enough of the whole Valentine's Day vibe -- how about you?
I could do Valentine's Day ALL YEAR!

Making that book looks like so much FUN. I really, seriously need to carve out a few minutes for play, very soon!
It so pretty! You have such a talent for putting all the elements together.

Laurie,
I love your journal! My favorite thing is the badge/patch (having a mental moment & can't think of the name) over that lovely girl. You've inspired me!

PS Do you still have that cute iphone case from birdsong? The wool one? I'm very into wool right now & can't get that one out of my mind.

Great ephemera journal, Lourie. And great ephemera packs. I'm going to take some time later today and visit your Etsy shop. I've had an Etsy shop but haven't sold much. I need to get on some Etsy teams and learn more about what I can do to promote my shop. I plan to put the shabby chic aprons in the shop soon. I have the photos of the first one that I posted on my blog. Now it's time to get more serious. I've been selling fabric and supplies on Ebay but now want to sell my art on Etsy. Please write when you have time and let me know if you would be willing to answer some questions about Etsy.

Your blog is lovely, as always.

hi Laurie!
How is it that I just NOW started officially 'following' you?!? I've been reading your blog regularly from a bookmark, but just noticed today that I wasn't actually following. So now I am:-) LOVE this journal--I actually saw it on FB when Karla posted something about it (how sweet was that?). It's really special; the cover is gorgeous.

Oh, how I love collecting ephemera for journal making or collaging. But I must admit it's a bit harder sitting down and using it! What if I can't find another one of this or that? LOL Right now I have some fabulous papers stashed in my vintage suitcases just patiently waiting until I release them into the world! Until then.... you can find me scouring some new antique mall looking for some more wonderful finds!

I love to make these books too! The textures and paper colors are so much fun to touch and look at. Yours are so pretty.

What a great book Laurie! This would be so fun to have. And like you I could do Valentines all year long! Hearts are so fun and of course the theme for love is always fun to do. You should host a year long heart fest as a swap!
