White Christmas Tag Swap
Spoiler alert: if you're participating in the White Christmas Tag Swap with me and you don't want a sneak peek -- please skip this post!
This was a fun -- but extensive -- swap, where we each had to made 16 of the same tag to exchange! I started off early sort of by accident, when I was going through my ephemera and accumulated a pile of smaller pieces of really nice papers. I just started gluing them randomly onto tags when I had a free moment.
Then, I added a piece of doily to all of them for that White Christmas look I was going for.
Then I found an antique scan that I really liked, of a little girl in a snow outfit with just hints of green and red, and I printed it onto off-white muslin.
I cut out the printed fabric and sewed it with a cute stitch on the reverse of the tags I'd covered with ephemera. Then I started embellishing! I added a layer of white tulle, and then vintage lace at the bottom; I glued trim over the lace for another dimension.
I sewed three vintage mother of pearl buttons and, for a little pop of color, three beads that I hope look like berries over them. Then I used silver glitter on the edges...
and tied some crinkly seam binding through the hole to finish them off!
It was another project with many steps, but I really enjoyed working with the neutrals -- and I really had to restrain myself there! They came out just like I wanted them to; to me, they really evoke the theme of White Christmas!
I am so glad I finished these, and the matchbox ornaments I showed you yesterday, as early as I did. Because, as I mentioned the other day, I hurt my right arm and it has gotten worse! I basically can't do anything that involves lifting my arm, which is just about everything.
Now I'm wearing a splint and ice is my best friend; hopefully it heals quickly because there is so much I want to do! (Heavy sigh.)

I am excited to be in the White Christmas tag swap as I love your tag!
I am just starting on my tags. Too many interruptions like Jordan's accident.
Love your tags, especially the touch of glitter.
Hugs,
Robin
