Weather woes, and buttons
I was very happy that I left this new hydrangea plant on my porch, under cover yesterday...
because we had 'a storm of historic proportions' -- for summer around here, at least! We had freaky bubble clouds...
and while we had a severe thunderstorm, lots of rain and some hail out here in the plains, it was nothing like what they got in town. Above, the leftover piles of hail that remained today from last night's storm just west of here!
I took off all the charms except most of those that were in "frames" and re-arranged them on the chain. I also put in some extras, like the long tall charm which was included in my matchbox swap; I paired it with the button charm that was my contribution. I changed out the charm on that blue and pearl dangling one.
To the peacock charm, the largest and therefore my necklace's focal piece, I clipped a nest that had been among the gifts at last year's Birdsong. It matched so well!
It was fun to re-work the necklace, and I still have several charms left, plus some I received as gifts, for a second necklace!
Today I took advantage of a break in the weather (and an opportunity to be distracted) and went to a yard sale up in Denver that had been advertised to my button club. No fancy buttons, but lots of craft ones.
I found so many fun, vintage sewing items (and a few buttons, too.) It was like a little vacation for my brain.

(Did I mention my son's out there in it, camping this week?)
Let's change the subject. The other day, I did some re-working of the necklace from the Birdsong Two charm swap I participated in.I took off all the charms except most of those that were in "frames" and re-arranged them on the chain. Lovely necklace!
love your necklace :)
The bracelet is beautiful, especially the peacock and nest together.
The weather is being ridiculous globally- I guess get used to it...
I love the boxes of buttons, I could have spent a happy time rifling through the boxes. :-)
