Up to my elbows in spring pretties!

That's where I've been lately: up to my elbows in Spring pretties!  They're gifts, so I can't show you yet and it's making me crazy!  But, here's something I can show you:
That's right: I received the matchbook swap from Michele!  Isn't the box lovely?
Again, it amazes me how much can fit inside!  She included all kinds of fun, Spring-themed goodies!
She included some wonderful scrap, that fun metal "memories" book, crochet lace, vintage flowers, and a tiny tin...
...full of pastel pretties!  What fun!  I love it that we included so many similar items for each other!

A new year

I hope this year will be much easier than the last one, for everyone I know.  I also want to say I'm sorry for not updating this blog since the end of October!  The end of the year was perhaps the worst of it; I'm not able to fake it very well, so instead of coming here and trying to be cheerful, I just don't come here! That's not to say we didn't have lovely holidays despite it all; we did! Here in Colorado January is off to a cold start; even though we get to see the sun on some of the chillier days, it's not possible to hang around outdoors. A frozen fountain I became ill shortly after the new year and continue to struggle with stuff (nothing real serious); I am looking forward to things being back to normal, so I can feel WELL and go back to the gym and have energy to spare! I don't think I posted about it here, but we did get a new kitten to keep Art company after he pined and paced over Paul Simon.  We thought we were getting a little boy...

Hello, world!  Welcome to my blog!   My name is Laurie, and I call my blog "Indulge Your Shelf" because I often post about the pretty things that catch my eye at antique stores, thrift shops, estate sales, street fairs, flea markets and the like -- and end up on my shelf at home, or in my Etsy shop by the same name !  My maternal grandmother had a great love for pretty old things, and it was she who taught me to rummage for treasures in thrift shops, to collect what I love, to sew, and to embroider.  And, that's another thing I write about often on my blog: creating!
