Things I've Been Creating

Here's a peek I thought you'd enjoy of some gift packets I made for friends in Texas.  I started with tiny manila file folders, and then sewed two together and sewed one of them closed so there was a pocket created.  After that, I decoupaged vintage papers all over each side of all of the folders (as well as a few new scrapbook papers here and there):

Then I inserted paper and fabric ephemera in between the pages, and into the pocket I'd created, as well as in some of the envelopes I'd attached.  Little surprises everywhere!

I used this scanned image printed out as a "card"...
and wrapped everything up in a doily place mat, tied with ribbon and a vintage beaded flower!
Hopefully, when they've used up what's inside, my friends can re-use the folders, too!

Another little project was rescuing this little porcelain figurine, which was covered with dirty lace and glopped glue!

I gave her a new, simple skirt and re-did her parasol:
I love the poodles!
Last but not least, I decoupaged another globe!
This time, it was a very small one.
It was a gift for Rebecca.  I mounted the globe on a candlestick.
I love how it turned out!
Sorry -- for real, tomorrow, I'm posting about what I bought in Texas!

You always create the most beautiful and charming pieces of artwork. BTW, in your travels to flea markets and the Bins, I’m looking for vintage letters and if the envelopes are still with the letters, even better. You already know that we don’t have the selection you have. I’ll send my cell number so you could text me while shopping. To your email.

And I’m looking forward to the Texas treasures.
