Thrifty finds

While I'm still spending more time at home going through my stash than out adding to it...
I'm still finding bits and pieces here and there that I feel are too good to pass up for my art.  Like those colorful little plastic word cards that will look great on journal pages...
and these fabric envelopes I found at Goodwill -- can't you just imagine going to town with embellishments on them?
A pretty little scarf in bright orange, with a fun faux woven pattern...
This is how you know that you live in the wild, wild west -- a vintage Tammis Keefe linen towel -- isn't it hilarious?
This little book is embossed on the back, "genuine english pigskin"; I just love its exhortation: THINK.
These little metal signals look great on ephemera journal pages...and a fun, old box!
And some ephemera, too...
I also found an old book I would like to read...
we are big PG Wodehouse fans at our house!
and look at this old tag inside the book!  I've never seen one before and I found it endearing!
My Grow Your Blog giveaway was mailed out this weekend; I also learned I'd won FOUR of the other blogger's giveaways during the party (I visited every. single. participating. blog!)  I accepted the first two prizes and can't wait to get them -- and I asked the other two bloggers to choose someone else as a winner so the love could be spread around!  (I hope they weren't offended by my not accepting those prizes, but I just thought four was way too many!)
What kind of fun stuff did you find at the estate sales/thrift shops/antique stores this weekend?

I love all your finds, especially the images of Mary! My sewing room is finally clean -- no kidding! Now I am actually working in it -- I suppose it will gradually get messy once more, but I am enjoying it now.

Laurie, I love the Stephen Grellet quote on those book plates. Thank you for reminding me. That is added to my list for the quote book because those are words to live by!
Thanks for sharing ALL the treasures!

So many fun treasures for creating art. Very generous of you to share your winnings from Vicki GYB Party. I never got through them all. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts...
P.S. I am forcing myself NOT to do any thrifting until I purge some stuff. Mr. C has a rule - "Volume In equals Volume Out!" And he doesn't consider the packaging part of it.

LOVE that tea towel! They need to reproduce it! The top left card with the Guardian Angel and the children is one of my favorites. My Great grandmother used to have the print of it and it hung above her bead as long as i can remember. I'd love to find one myself! I'm trying to sort my stuff out still, I think it might take all year!
