Beautiful mail

I was the lucky winner of the Grow Your Blog giveaway on Maggie's blog, The Mag Rag.  Maggie's blog is charming, and I've been a fan of it for a long time!  She has a warm and generous nature and her blog reflects that -- plus it's always just a feast for the eyes!
Look!  Oh my gosh, I got to choose which of Maggie's gorgeous necklaces I wanted from a group she made new for the swap.  Which was such a pleasure, as they have long been on my favorites list from her Etsy shop -- they are soldered charms that are deeper than most you see.  In fact, she calls them shadowbox charms.
I chose this one, with a lovely piece of lace under glass, soldered and accented with a tiny pearly bead stack.  Oh my gosh, I love it so much I put it on immediately and took a photo on my phone.  (The sweatshirt I'm wearing doesn't do it justice!)
Maggie is an artist, and she sent me a big package of treasures that I just wasn't expecting!  I was beyond excited to open all the little packages!
Here are two beautiful note cards featuring some of her inspiring angel paintings -- shown with one of the special boxes she MAKES herself from recycled materials -- inside was the the beautiful pendant.
A little notebook with another of her pieces of art -- this time, a snowy owl.  And a set of three tags...
I know they are handmade but they are so perfectly put together that it doesn't seem possible!
And, yes -- there's more!  Look at this lovely journal -- in Valentine red -- with another gorgeous bird motif.
I love the details, inside and out!
I feel very lucky and spoiled to have been the recipient of all this beauty.  Thank you so much, Maggie!

What a fantastic 'prize'. So much effort and thought has obviously gone into the package you received and the one you sent. I am hoping to make a little fabric and lace journal of photos for my parents 50th wedding anniversary later this year and have been perusing your lovely blog yet again for ideas and inspiration! M x

Laurie, you are a DOLL for writing such a sweet post about your winnings! I'm so glad you like everything, and this post just made my day, girl!! (I do want to clarify one thing: I didn't paint the snowy owl myself...it's a digital download that I used to make the book and tags:)) Congrats again for winning...I was so tickled when I drew your name out of the hat!!

xo,
Maggie

Wow, Laurie, you really hit the jackpot. Great photos of great gifts. Such a generous soul to share her goodness with you. The woman who got the purse I was giving away got it already in the mail and was over the top thrilled. She hasn't done a post on it yet and I'm looking forward to it when she does. I'm taking a cue from MagRag and will remember to include extra goodies when I start selling my shabby chic aprons and other accessories on Etsy. You are blessed.
