Waiting on the storm
It seems like all weekend I've been just waiting on the huge storm that is forecast to hit us here in Colorado.
It did start to snow overnight last night; here's what my patio looked like early this morning. I love how the snow bunched up on all the crevasses in the stones!
Snoopy was playing in the snow this morning; look at his snowy nose!
I hope that, if it does snow, it snows A LOT as is predicted. Because if it snows a bunch but not enough to keep me home from work -- my commute will be pretty awful tomorrow!
The photo above is me in my Happy Bunny pajama pants, with a heating pad wrapped around my right foot. Becauseapparently, I have no shame I spent all weekend inside and off my feet -- not due to the snow, but the fall I took in the parking lot of the gym Thursday night. That's what I get for exercising, huh? I sprained my ankle pretty good and couldn't drive, or hardly walk. Dennis drove me to work Friday and I limped around, so that by the time I came home my foot was a swollen mess. After this weekend of rest, it is beginning to feel better.
So, I spent a lot of time making Valentine art over the last couple of days -- as evidenced by this chaotic mess!
I wish I could show you what I made -- but most of it was for a swap and/or will be going out in the mail soon so I don't want to spoil the surprises. Here are a couple of pieces that are staying home with me:
I love the photo of this woman, an actress from the early 1900's. I put her in a little compilation of pretty things; not sure what I'll do with this but it will be a part of my Valentine's Day decor, and it makes me very happy.
In this piece, I used another favorite photo that I purchased from a thrift or antique store a while back; the women look so cute in their warm winter coats and I just love that special purse the gal in the middle is holding! I framed it in a cardboard photo holder and added a phrase the photo always brings to mind: All dressed up and no place to go. It's not finished yet; I'm not sure about the washi tape along the edges...

All in all, a restful weekend. I love Sundays; now I'm looking forward to watching Downton Abbey, and hoping for that big snowfall. I hope your weekend was lovely, too!

Why a cluttered desk is the sign of a creative person n'est-ce-pas?
Or at least that's how I see it, and I'm sticking to it. LOL
I hope your ankle heals quickly!
