A happy Easter was had by all
I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend! Ours was so nice; in the days leading up to it, I was distracted from the holiday by Birdsong preparations -- swaps and general giddiness -- but I made a point of being in the present on Easter Sunday. I cooked and set a pretty table, while watching old movies on TV and relaxing until company arrived in the late afternoon. We had six friends come for dinner and they all brought delicious stuff to eat, so we feasted and visited.
After dinner we had the most spectacular snow storm -- monstrous snowflakes, big and wet and drippy, falling by the millions from the sky and then melting as soon as they hit the ground! I wish I'd been able to photograph them!
Here's a surprise that came in the mail on Friday, just in time for Easter, from Michaele! I love surprises, don't you? A spring tree and some embellished clothes pins!
Here's the tree, unwrapped and on display. It is so adorable!
I haven't been doing much thrifting lately, but I have finished a couple more pillows to put in the shop:
These are made from some hand printed, vintage fabric from San Francisco in shades of gray and pink. I love this fabric and have been hoarding the small piece I have for years!
The vintage embroidered sofa doily I added has coordinating pink crocheted edges; I gathered it at the bottom for interest and added some gray vintage buttons. I really like how they turned out!
I'm leaving for Birdsong on Wednesday morning, but hope to have some posts scheduled to run while I'm away, so please check back! Suzanne and I will be antiquing our way across Kansas, and then plan to attend a flea market on Friday; Birdsong is Saturday and Sunday!
I wish you could all come with us! I just know I'll come home with lots of photos, new friends to write about, and stories to tell you!

Good looking sweater on your husband, mine has the same one!!
Your pillows are so pretty. I love the pink and grey one especially. I hope that right now, you are having a wonderful time at Birdsong. It looked like a fabulous group of women and some great classes. A glimpse at the goody bags made me feel very GREEDY!!
I really wanted to go. Just could not, with Jud's illness. I hope that Karla does it again and I can go, too!
I can't wait to see your class products and your trades!
Hugs,
Suz
Birdsong was amazing! Meeting you certainly a highlight. I travel to CO usually every year, I will call you next time I'm in town & you can show me the good shopping. Thank you for the sweet button card & everything else. I'll never forget it.
