Just a few days later, the second swap group of 3 inchies arrived:   Lisa H.'s square in felt with beautiful embroidery Lisa S.'s  is so elegant and soft in white Jeanelle's, in lace from an antique collar, wool felt,  buttons...  and a very cute key Linda's has many hearts in different textures, all bright   Tamatha somehow managed 9 tiny, intricately detailed squares on each 3 inchie!  Hope said she immediately envisioned this "Polly Pocket" style creation when she decided to join the swap:  and it turned out beautifully -- so original!  Here's my humble contribution to the second swap: another multi-layered square onto which I stitched a favorite piece of vintage pink crochet ribbon and a heart cut from a vintage necktie, and then hand stitched in pink and white around it.  There were more lovely gifts to spoil me!  Best of all, the generous swappers each made an extra inchie to send to cheer a fri

A bunch of us got together to do a fabric heart swap just in time for Valentine's Day; I enjoyed boxes arriving with beautiful art for several wonderful days! I gathered them together and boxed them up and got them out as quickly as I could -- and that part was joyful, too!  We had two groups with 7 stitchers in each group. When one had to drop out, I picked up her spot so I ended up being in both swaps!  Here's the 3-inch fabric square I made for one of them. Its base was muslin, with a layer of white burlap, vintage heart crochet "lace", and a piece of beautiful French ribbon I've been hoarding for years; over all of it was a layer of pink tulle.   And of course a button and some crinkled seam binding.  This beautiful silk fabric/ribbon weave with a felt puffy heart is by Kristi. I'm just going to show you this completely overwhelmingly beautiful gift I received from Terri ; she was the first one to inspire me to try fabric journals and got me hooked in a big way. Terri is so talented; she puts things together with such perfection and she is a far superior sewer than I am!  I think she has patience with her art that I can only aspire to -- and I do! Feast your eyes : Yes, I do know how lucky I am to be the recipient of such a completely beautiful gift! I will treasure it always!
