I had to go downtown to visit the foot doctor today and afterwards I stopped by a favorite thrift store that I don't get a chance to visit very often. I found nothing. And so I felt a little bummed out. But then I remembered all the thrifty vintage finds I'd gathered from the new thrift store that opened up in my town, which is much too conveniently close for my pocketbook's sake to other shops I frequent: I'm so happy with all of these purchases, and they were incredibly inexpensive, too! I mean, thrifty! There, I feel better now! In other news: I changed my mind about keeping it and I've just listed this crazy quilt pillow in my Etsy shop ! I was so excited to receive this award from Sandra ! I must say, of all the awards I've seen posted on people's blogs, this is the one that caught my eye. Maybe it's the colors, maybe it's the pattern that is so like an Amy Butler fabric, or the random spelling of "Kreativ" which is how the word would be spelled by a German...whatever the reason, it's one I've coveted! I get such a kick out of vintage novelty items, so when I saw this box with the big lipstick stain on it, I was pretty sure I was going to love what was inside. I wasn't disappointed! These cocktail napkins are so corny that even my 11 year old son "got" them! The bonus was that they were made in San Francisco -- and how often do you get to enjoy something that's made in the US anymore? I think I love the cable car graphic on the label most of all!

I received this great, super blinky, blingy award from Joy ! To accept it, I need to thrust aside all modesty and humility and blog about 7 things that make me "awe-summm"! This took a lot more thought than the typical meme, believe me! 1. I was born in what I consider the most awesome town in the world - San Francisco. How can you not be awesome if you're from there, I ask you? This also makes me a California girl...and you know what they say about them. 2. Even though I'm in my 40's, I am still a teenager at heart. In the little world inside my head, I haven't aged beyond my late teens/early 20's. How awesome is that? Seriously -- I can hardly believe I'm as old as I am and I truly don't know where the time has gone! I'm hoping this state of mind will come in handy as my son heads into his teenage years, which I'm also very much looking forward to because I love to be around people in that age group.
