Bling Up a Yogurt Cup creations by Tamatha and Kelli

Here are the next two "reveals" of my friends and fellow bloggers who played along with me in the Bling Up a Yogurt Cup Challenge: How adorable is this sewing notions holder by Tamatha?  I love the color theme she chose.  She cleverly built a pin cushion into the "small" side of the yogurt cup.  I think it's the perfect size for bringing a sewing project into the TV room -- which is how I do so much of my sewing!  To read about it and see more photos, visit her blog, Snips and Threads ! Kelli's story about her yogurt cup(s) warmed my heart: she made them pretty and functional to meet a need of her mother's -- and designed them to match mom's decor, too. Read all about it on her blog, Kelli's Kitchen . I loved doing this challenge and want to thank both Tammy and Kelli for playing along with me! Isn't it is always so fun to see how other creative souls approach the same challenge? You guys are awesome!

It's time to show you what the three of us made! We started with the intriguingly-shaped Greek yogurt container: When I considered the cup, I always imagined it as a tiny cottage. I rubbed pink ink all over it to bring out the nubby bits. You can see that better here, from the rear.  I added a tiny back door. The "grass" on top is to evoke a thatched roof. I used...

I'm having a lovely Saturday, and I hope you are as well.  Here's how I define "lovely": I slept until I woke up, lounged around with a second cup of coffee, and around noon began creating at my own pace, aka "slowly".   I'll show you what I've been up to soon ; it's for a swap so it will all need to stay under wraps for a while. But feast your eyes on what I won last week on shopgoodwill.com !  A vintage beaded evening bag...  made in Paris.  It has the sweetest pleats, and some delicate embroidery on the front and back. But I could not get over the beading. Even though it's not perfect/missing some beads -- especially on the clasp -- I just love what remains. In case you haven't heard, the Grow Your Blog event is happening, beginning today!  I'm not a participant this year but I am an alumni of previous years and I highly recommend you take some time to visit some of the bloggers taking part in the event!  M...
