Sunday thoughts

I'm still waiting for Spring; even though we've had a couple of nice days, this is what it looked like in my neighborhood on Tuesday night:
It's hail, not snow.  Several inches of it.
So when I walked into JoAnns Fabrics and Crafts yesterday and saw their beach-y theme, I had to sigh in anticipation of warmer days ahead.
This sign made me really happy.
Dennis and I have a special anniversary coming up: 25 years.
And we've planned a trip to the Caribbean that I'm really looking forward to.
I've never been to that part of the world before!
I'm counting the days until I can put my toes in this sand!
We haven't take a trip like this in a long, long time.
I've been shopping for swim wear and clothing for a tropical climate, and day dreaming about the trip.
I really want to bring along some art to do, since we'll have so much time at leisure.
I was thinking of buying, or creating, a special, beach-themed travel journal (blank) to fill.
(Something like this one that I found on Etsy.)
And also a little sewing kit with some basics and some fabric projects -- maybe even beach-themed ones (but my vintage style.)
Oh, and some good beach reads.  I love literary fiction.  I don't want to read anything sad.

Oh so jealous, but happy that you're getting a much deserved and lovely vacation! That top is super cute, and I can't wait to see your journal and all the fun things you do on your trip.
My Colorado boy says he's ready for summer! Happy almost anniversary. Best wishes for your trip.
You should make a travel journal, there are so many details you forget if you wait til later "when you have time" to make an album of the trip. And for me, I love to sit on the patio, watch the ocean and doodle in my book. Have a wonderful trip!

Happy Anniversary! Not to rain on your crafting parade but I don't think you can take a sewing kit on a plane because of the scissors and needles. If you have no one to hand them to - you have to throw them away so you may want to call the airlines............unless of course you are driving to Galveston, TX or somewhere like it and boarding the ship - then I'm all wrong about it! :)

Okay, so I'm envious....but happy for you. Sitting by the seaside, sipping margueritas, writing journal entries and doing a little dreaming of all the projects you have been inspired to create. Ya just gotta love it!

ps - I think you do such fabulous work that any travel journal you make would tower above anything that could be bought.

pps - Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary, yea

I love the Caribbean waters

You should just plan on laying on the beach all day and looking for shells at daylight

Can you believe all that hail? we got all rain for 3 days straight and we do have sunshine today finally.

I know you will have a fabulous trip you and Dennis, keep us posted on it

That cold icy weather had better stop as we will be in Littleton to see my stepson in less than two weeks, and then on down to Colorado Springs to see my sis. I have my fingers crossed that all bad weather will be gone in June - poof.

Happy 25th Anniversary - enjoy your trip to the Caribbean. We were stationed in that part of the world for 2 1/2 years (a long time ago), and it was so beautiful.
