A banner day

Image
Here's what I did with the inchies I received in the 12 Days of Christmas swap: I made them into a banner!  I know it's hard to see, but I wanted to show you the whole thing; I made it in two sections of six "flags" each. I used alternating, heavy vintage fabrics.  One was a bark cloth design from the '40's, and the other was a green toile that was probably from the late '50's. I used some heavy embroidered eyelet trim to string them all together, then strung green and rose seam tape, respectively, through the middle row of 'hole' in the eyelet.  All the materials I used were from my collection vintage materials!  I love that. I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I'm also proud of myself for "committing" to sewing down all the pretty inchies; it's so tempting to just hoard and admire them! The banner's already hanging, as shown, in the archway between my living and dining rooms.  It was the first bit of Chri...

Spring fever

Image
We've had a few days of sunshine and temps in the 50s and it's giving me Spring Fever, how about you?  I am so much more productive in weather like this!  Maybe because I'm thawed out or something. I made a few more "three inchey" embellishments for my shop; they coordinate with the bird one I showed you a few days ago (upper right); they're now in my handmade shop .  I love making these! I wasn't happy with some of the photos of my stuff in that shop , so I took a few minutes and redid them, like the one above.  I think it was a big improvement! I've also lowered pillow prices and relisted them in the shop !  The one above is the Sunny Yellow Rose Pillow , and it really matches my mood!  I also packed off and sent the two One World, One Heart gift packages to the winners... I put the paper ephemera in these folders and the embellishments in these cool waxy envelopes, using Japanese washi tape on both.  I love that tape!  The winners have a...

The Valentine 3 Inchey swap

Image
Oh I have been dying to show you the 3 incheys I got from the Valentine swap I did with some of my Silver Bella buddies!  Feast your eyes on all this beauty: This is the little canvas book that Jeanelle created for each of us to hold the 3 incheys!  Isn't it FUN?! The sweet "be mine" sentiment on Mollie McCabe's 3 inchey; she included a beautiful vintage valentine in her gift packet, too! Jami Miller's woven ribbon heart 3 inchey  Look how cute Miss Lynn wrapped her 3 inchey... isn't it pink and pearly and gorgeous!  (If you haven't already downloaded Amy Powers' newest ezine , you must go get it; Miss Lynn is one of the contributors/stars this time and it is, as always, FULL of inspiration!) This little crazy quilt was made by Connie . I love how Tamantha wrapped her 3 inchey and sealed it with wax! Her 3 inchey had a little heart that slips into a lace pocket. Sweetness! Lisa's 3 inchey wrapped in hearts...  with a tiny silver heart in...
