I am still alive!

I feel awful for not blogging more these last few weeks.  I'm fine, still alive, just a bit uninspired.  And worn out.  And sad about how things are in our world.  I hope that will all change after our vacation.  I crave refreshment, for my heart.

Here's a little bit of what I've been up to (besides the ever-present WORK):
Ben turned 19 and we had a nice dinner out at The Broadmoor; here we are by the lake.  It was an incredibly gorgeous night!  Summer sure took a long time to get here, but now that it's here, it was worth the wait.
On a different night, I took this selfie on my way back from my boss's "best wishes" (going away) party at work.
They really do throw the best parties -- here's a sampling of the wonderful cheese and savory snacks we got to munch on.  It was lovely to be there to wish him well and to celebrate his legacy after 20 years at the company.  That's something I'll never have, and I feel a bit of regret when I think of it.
And, this is the only creative thing I've done at all lately: a special tag for a gift for an expectant mother!
I loved using some of my old greeting card images, and occasional stickers in the baby boy theme!
Here's the back of the tag -- a page from a booklet ca. 1935 called, Sewing With Cotton Bags.  The gift itself was a little book that I adored when I was pregnant with Ben all those years ago: The Wish, The Wait, The Wonder.  It was a perfect little book of anecdotes and quotes to read during all those tired, dreamy moments while waiting for baby.  I'm so excited for her!

What have you been up to lately?

Great to hear from you, Laurie, and to see the gift tag you made for the expectant mother. I'm glad you had a nice birthday dinner with Ben. Both of you look wonderful. I haven't been up to much new except for doing my photography and editing photos on my iPad or iPhone and posting to Instagram. I'm learning to quilt and enjoying the process. We will have a small quilt camp in Flagstaff in July and I'm taking 2 small classes. I keep trying new online classes and am finding what fits for my lifestyle and my interests. I'm starting one today called Creative Content Camp with about 30 other other artists. It's for 8 weeks and I'm sure hoping I'll have a handle on what to use for content in my often-neglected blog. The proof will be in the posting.

Enjoy you summer,
Hugs,
Marrianna

I can totally relate. I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks and feel like such a slacker but just don't feel inspired to post lately.
Maybe I need a soul-refreshing vacation, too! Are you going somewhere fun?
Love that vintage tag for new mommy, I feel the same way you do, only summer didn't wait so long to come here in the desert. Your son has grown up. I remember him standing next to you and being lots shorter. Hugs to you I am just getting back into blogging.
