A Paris Street Market, The Barn and a little lamb

Here are some cheery photos of my last trip to A Paris Street Market two weeks ago:

 Doily banner heaven!

Now that I've made my own fabric strip banners, I can appreciate the time it took to make these lacy ones; they appeared to be made from inexpensive lace tablecloths!
I really liked these lampshades made from strips of  fabric.
I so would have bought some of those vintage birds Rebecca was holding if I wasn't working so hard on downsizing my clutter horde craft supplies.
This sign made me laugh out loud!
As soon as I saw this dilapitdated old doll I knew I had to photograph it because I know so many people who would love it!

Runners made from hankies and doilies!
Someone was selling their button collection!
After the market and lunch, we went to another favorite store, The Barn in nearby Castle Rock.

We have so little color in my own yard that I had to snap a photo of me with the blooming tree in front of the store!

I fell head over heels in love with these hand made picture frames (above), each displayed with the cutest sheep and little lambs!
I had to splurge on this one to come home with me.
And I copied one of our family photos in sepia to display in the frame...
but couldn't decide which I liked better: full color or sepia.
So I went with both and I change them out on my desk -- easy to do with the little clip.
I {quilted puffy heart} market season!  I love to walk around with friends and feel completely inspired by the time creative people take to make the everyday beautiful!
This heart is the only thing besides a little embroidery I've created this week.  It came from a double wedding ring quilt 'square' I've had forever; it's made from such sweet fabrics -- and the shape of the quilting lent itself nicely to a heart, don't you think?
This is a photo of Ben in San Francisco, modeling a Hard Rock Cafe jacket I really wanted to buy him but couldn't afford on a trip there in 2003.
I continue to be in the throes of disbelief and a kind of grief (and joy!) over his graduation this coming week, and all the changes in store for us.
To tell you the truth it's completely overwhelming me right now.  It was even hard to write this blog post without weeping a little bit.  I am a mess.

Love this type of market and I can see a lot of people repurpose so many oldies like hankies and doilies.
Love the frame you bought, very ingenious with the clip.

Congratulations on your grandson's graduation.

Our only child (daughter) graduated in 1989 so even though it has been years I can so relate to what you are going through. The market and shop look like so much fun! I loved seeing the table runners. I love the frame and the lamp peaking out is so cute. Of course the family pictures in the frame are really cool too. Your heart is so cute. You inspire me. Have a good weekend!

What a fun flea market! We will be in that area the end of May, but a week too early to catch the June flea market. The picture frame is such a simple and great idea - I never come up with them myself.

Congrats to your son on his graduation, and sympathy to you for your little boy being all grown up. The picture of him in the jacket is the cutest. My sister's youngest son will graduate next year, and I can hardly believe how that little boy is becoming a man.

I would NOT have been able to avoid purchases at the Paris Flea Market even though I am also doing my best to declutter my stash of supplies and photo prop goodies. A little at a time, though, and I know we will both get this done.

Thank you for taking a photo of the delapitted doll - very smart young boy, right? I'm grateful you created another heart out of a wedding ring quilt piece. I recently bought a wedding ring quilt top from an estate sale. I never know what I'm going to do with these kinds of things when I get them, but if the price is right, they come home with me. Maybe I'll make a heart or two.

When does Ben leave for college? And please remind me of the college he will be attending because I forgot. He is such a handsome young man, and the photo on the unique clipboard frame is wonderful!

Hugs and blessings,
Marrianna

You have such great places to shop! I adore the hankie table runners.
Hang in there, my friend, it is a big change but it DOES get easier and, trust me, he is not out of the nest just yet. He is stretching his wings and will still be flying back to the nest for some comfort and joy for some time to come.

looks like a great place! I'm always looking for way to use the 83 hankies my Nana left me when she passed away and those runners are a great idea!

Got a bunch of inspiration from all those doily banners! I just love doilies, old & new. And that old dolly - if only she could talk I bet she'd have a great story to tell...what's not to love about her? Just think of Ben's absence as a rehersal for a lifestyle ~ you know ~ you leave, but you always come back!

Love the sheep picture frames and what you did with it! And I know, one of my grands is graduating June 4th and then will be off to college. I will so miss her! good tears!
Yes I agree don't cry to hard for Ben . He will still be in and out for a few years. Since he is your only child that makes it harder also, my last one was the one where empty nest set in real hard, since I was a single MOM.
You will be just fine

I loved seeing the buttons the lady was selling, I have decided to sell lots of mine also, need to get bust =y with them

We are having an outdoor flea market around here this weekend
