Muddled and befuddled

I'm feeling a bit of writer's block here.

So much of what I'm doing creatively, lately, is for gifts.  I'd like to show you, but I can't!

So then I think I'll blog a little about life in general, but things around here have been difficult and I don't like to complain on my blog if I can help it...so that won't work.
What I can blog about, instead, though, is some fun vintage stuff I've been picking up here and there lately, and I hope you won't think it's ho-hum.  It's the best I've got right now!
This beautiful Vera apron is actually floor length -- it's more like a tunic, with ties on the sides, but was created as a fancy apron for the 1970's hostess.  Is it not adorable?  I found it for $2.50 at an estate sale.
I love these little paper, embossed bands.  I think they were used in the 1950s as gift wrapping accessories; I believe they were folded around plain ribbons, either under the bow or in place of a bow.  Does anyone remember?  I think they'll be fun additions to ephemera journals.
A fun little key brooch/pin...that day I was looking for BIRD pins for a Birdsong 3 swap but this is what I came up with, instead.  It was only $1!
I ordered these from an Etsy seller in England; they are little wrens on farthing coins.  How CUTE are they?  I couldn't resist.  I think they would make a cute pendant if I set them in a bezel.
Did I ever show you this is a very cool Jergens cosmetics box from the early 1900s?  It has a great embossed paper outside, and I love how it is lined with this fabulous silk blend fabric.
The back bears a proprietary stamp, which was sort of the business tax of the day back in 1916.  I'm getting ready to list it in my shop.

Actually, to tell you the truth I thought I already had but I can't seem to find it in the shop anywhere.  Which just goes to show how muddled and befuddled I am lately!

Hi Laurie!

Those wren farthings are SO sweet---doing something with them for Birdsong???(i am still EXTREMELY envious!!)

I've been in a bit of a funk lately and also have a case of writer's block. One of these days I'm going to get back to my blog....

Always love to check in to see what you're up to. Have a great weekend:-)

Great finds and, trust me, you are not alone. I spend way way more of my time than I would like to admit feeling befuddled!

At first I thought you said winter block-I can relate to that. But this week we've had about 3 1/2 days of sun and it's been wonderful. Life is up and down isn't it? You are headed for an upswing. Hang in there.

I think you are right about the gift tag/wraps - I have one that is the same design but a gummed label that came in a package of vintage Gift Wrap. The farthings are so neat! I'm feeling you with the bloc...but more like bloggers bloc...the things I'm a bit on right now are not quite what I usually blog about. Ugh. Keep your chin up ;)
