Last post from FL...I promise!

I just had to finish telling you about my trip to FL with this post about a mall I stopped at on the way to Jacksonville to fly home: Avonlea Antique Mall.
They were happy to let me take photos, and I really enjoyed visiting every single booth in the large mall over about 90 minutes.
Cute, chippy, garden/Spring things...

bonnets...

and lots of home decor.

I really wanted to have a seat -- but, I behaved myself.

(I must say: this shell-mosaic'd spool cabinet made me wince, though!)
Look at this pretty aqua blue/green stove!
I thought this was kind of cute: it's a vintage hanger studded with antique buttons; then, hanging from the buttons and attached by more buttons: clothespins and, in turn, vintage kitchen towels.
Peekaboo!
Another favorite: a Victorian sewing box.  This is the inlaid top (above)...
and inside, silk-covered wooden compartments.  Sorry the photo's a bit blurry -- those are mother of pearl "pulls" to lift up the silk compartment covers.  Then the whole tray lifts off with those little metal handles and there's storage under it.  Just. Gorgeous!
One of the few examples of mid-century modern I saw at this mall; most of the decor was decidedly more traditional.
Perhaps my favorite part of the visit was the wonderful cafe where I had lunch...
and fresh, to-die-for, coconut creme pie with a cup of caramel drizzle coffee.  Doesn't that sound good?  As the snow blows and falls outside now, I'm dreaming about being back in Florida!

Oh my gosh I can't believe it is snowing! I won't tell you what the temp is here today! I love that thread cabinet...someone went to a lot of effort but they should rip that stuff out so it can be used for storage! I only wish I could get my hands on a stove like that!

What a great trip! I'm liking of course the HATS and that garden booth - looks like a lot of yummy treasures in it.

I can't believe you are still having snow. Will it ever end?
Looks like a good place to spend a few hours. I love the hats and, like everyone else, that spool cabinet minus the shells. Hang in there! Spring will get to you soon - hopefully by summer!
That is where the guncles have a booth! I love that mall. Good sandwhiches too.
