Pretty old paper

It's no secret that I really appreciate old paper -- nothing feels quite like it, and you just can't duplicate its texture when you use it in your art.  I found some stacks of great old paper at the flea market this past weekend.  'Wanna see?
Some of it was in really rough shape, but I don't mind that!  Part of it was from an old Colorado mining concern around the turn of the century...
and some of it was those great old music magazines called Etude, from the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Etude always has pretty print and fun old ads, so I grab them whenever I can!
We have ladies on cycles, chickens...
and all kinds of odd stuff such as the results of bird racing...
and families having bad hair days!
I love this stuff!
"You cannot begin too early!"
And: is this not the cheeriest chick you've ever seen?

Wonderful stuff-I'm going to keep a look out for the magazine you mentioned!. The chicky is even doing a chicky dance, not having chicken pot pie for dinner. A good day for her.

I always think how funny it would be to come across some paper stuff that belonged to a family member of mine from long ago! I know you'll make something adorable with your finds.

Thanks for the tip about the magazine...I've seen those and didn't realize what they were - I think I thought they contained sheet music. I'll be on the lookout now!

I love the old papers also and have used some in card making however the person I gave them to just didn't get it . Not knowing how to respond to a vintgae type card so I am more selective now who I give them to

even a sister didn't realize I made her a very special card lace buttons and old song paper

you do such a good job in your art
