Hot summer nights

I love the hot weather, but not our famous hailstorms.  The one we had last week destroyed my hydrangea (above),
this hosta, which was coming in so nicely this year,
and this pretty geranium.  I was Not Happy.
I was also Not Happy that the hail came the day after we had new roof shingles installed.
On a hot night last week, I went to another writer's event in downtown Denver; this time it was held at an art studio, and consisted of three novelists sharing on What's Fiction For?  Interesting.

I arrived early (after some antiquing) and relaxed and waited in this little courtyard.
I really liked this plastic sculpture...in the ladies room!

Oh no. So sorry about the damage to your beautiful garden plants. You'll have to get a roof inspector back up there to make sure the new shingles are damaged too. Bad hail!

Oh, I sure hate that about your plants. It is so frustrating when that happens.

I must admit, I have never seen a plastic sculpture in a ladies room. ;-)

Your poor plants! On the bright side, it looks like you had a lovely evening at the Writer's event!

OOOOOooooo! Sorry about your plants! I would be so discouraged! I remember those hail storms, from when we lived in Missouri. But they should recover.

What a shame about your hostas Laurie. The storms always come at the wrong time when plants are at their best.
